This year, the 5D Team will be focusing a lot of energy on the companies and organizations that make the world a better place – including nonprofit organizations.  Many of these organizations do not realize that there are free funds available for placing Google Ads.  The exposure that can come with $10,000 PER MONTH in FREE ADVERTISING is substantial.

However, there are stipulations that Google places on potential grant recipients.  Among these is a required website.  Google Ads Grants offer an incredible opportunity for nonprofits to reach a wider audience, drive awareness, and boost their online presence without spending a dime, but only if the organization OWNS AND OPERATES A USER-FRIENDLY WEBSITE.

  1. Your organization must OWN THE DOMAIN that users land on when they click your ad (There is one exception to this rule that applies only when a donation page is hosted by a verified donation processor).
  2. The website must provide a clear description of your organization, including the mission and activities.
  3. Furthermore, Google wants to see unique, high-quality content, regular updates, easy-to-use navigation, and highly visible calls-to-action.
  4. The website must have quick loading time, must not have broken links, and must have HTTPS security in place.
  5. The primary purpose of your website should not be commercial (sales, leads, referrals, etc.), but rather focused on the purpose of the nonprofit. Any and all commercial activity should explicitly support your mission.
  6. If users are charged anything, there must be clarification of how those funds contribute to the mission (annual report).
  7. Any and all advertisements on your site must be relevant to the mission and non-intrusive to users (Google AdSense ads and affiliated advertising is NOT allowed on your website).
  8. If you wish to have more than one domain affiliated with the ads account, you must submit a request form.

Stay tuned for the next post in our series, where we’ll dive into the other requirements for receiving the Google Ads Grant.  Let’s get your nonprofit greater reach through FREE ADVERTISING!
